Montbretia Lucifer
A hardy clump forming deciduous perennial with upright, sword-shaped, long dark green leaves, complimented by sprays of beautifully vivid red funnel shaped flowers in midsummer until early autumn. Crocosmia Lucifer is quite a tall plant and an excellent choice for adding texture along the border, looking its best planted en masse. It is tolerant of salt and drought once established, thriving mainly in sunny, well-drained locations where it will happily multiply. Crocosmia Lucifer is complimented by Kniphofia, Lysimachia or contrasting Blue Agapanthus. Both resistant to grazing deer and rabbits. Attracts butterflies.
Lucifer holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
